Will Flight Prices Go Down? How To Know When To Buy A Flight

Learn how to improve your spending habits, leverage debt, and invest in the future to help you gain financial freedom.

Whenever there’s a vacation destination that one wants to visit or an out-of-town event that must be attended, one of the first things to do is check airfares. It can be time-consuming and painful just to look at the flights, airfares, and all of the airline ticket price trends (flight price trends).

Sometimes there’s “sticker shock” involved along with the following question that ALWAYS seems to come up, “will flight prices go down?” There is a solution to this problem that I use to better help with airline ticket price trends.

When I used to travel quite a bit (relatively speaking), it was always painful to check the availability and prices of my flights along with no knowledge of flight price trends. I had to take the time to go through a bunch of different websites to compare them all to first see if there was availability.

If there was availability, I then had to check the prices. This was, of course, going through and checking all of the different websites again. It was quite painful! Then, as always, asking myself, “will flight prices go down?”

It ended up being even more painful when, as I going through and checking the airfares and availability, airfare prices went up and availability went down. Not knowing the flight price trends was like a slap in the face after being slapped in the face.

Recognition Of Airline Ticket Price Trends

Over time, since I was flying the same route, sometimes multiple times a week, I started to notice what a good airfare price was for that particular route. This was after flying the same route for quite a while (months, maybe up to a year).

Learning the airline ticket price trends and recognizing the patterns for the one route that I often flew, took me a lot of time (and money). On top of starting to know what a good airfare was for the particular route, I started to think that there has to be a better way to do things.

With as time-consuming as the process was, it was starting to get annoying and in the way of doing other, more important, things. Surely, knowing the flight price trends would help, but there was know way to know them immediately.

A Solution That Saves Time And Money

In order to find out the answer to the age old question, “will flight prices go down?” I decided to scour the Internet for a website that could help.

I tried a lot of websites that seemed promising for what I was looking for. After some trial and error, I noticed that there was one website that was consistently “on the ball.”#Will #Flight #Prices #Go #Down? #How #To #Know #When To #Buy A #Flight #AirfareWatchDog | foolishfinancial.com

AirfareWatchDog.com ended up working quite well for me. I signed up with my email address and set up some FARE ALERTS. I use these all the time now.

Whenever there’s a place that I want to or have to go, I set up a Fare Alert and just wait for the airfare(s) alerts when the prices go down (if they go down). There are occasions where the airfares just don’t go down. In those cases, I’ll just have to bite the bullet.

The key with this is being patient. Since nobody knows the future, this process ends up being a waiting game. However, once you get the alerts from AirfareWatchDog.com, act quickly and go purchase your ticket because those are usually pretty good prices for the route you have the alert for.

This process has saved me countless hours and thousands of dollars by using their Fare Alerts. No more manually searching for airfares only to find that I didn’t can’t find a good price (not to mention, not even knowing what a good price is).

The good news is that AirfareWatchDog.com watches airline ticket price trends and is my best bet for answering my age old question of, “will flight prices go down?” They seriously seem to have a good handle on flight price trends.
